Big Rig Hauling Anti Freeze Catches Fire Early Thursday Morning In Tehama County

Very early Thursday morning, shortly after 3AM, a big rig trailer caught fire on Hogsback Road, AKA Highway 36 East, near Hog Lake in Tehama County. The truck was coming from Reno to Red Bluff and was hauling a 53 foot trailer with a load of one gallon jugs of antifreeze. Initially the whole road was blocked, and then just the westbound side for many hours while the mess was cleaned up. Before the fire spread beyond the trailer, the driver managed to detach the truck and save it from getting burned up.
