Redding Fire Extinguishes Overnight Fire Likely Sparked By Fireworks

A small fire believed to have been started by illegal fireworks was quickly contained by Redding Fire early Wednesday morning. Just after Midnight, neighbors reported seeing the fireworks and a group of juveniles in a white truck leaving the area near Shasta View and Venus Way. It took about 10 minutes for crews to contain the fire. No one was injured, and no homes were threatened.

Another fire, called the Rawson Fire, was contained by Cal-Fire in Red Bluff on Tuesday afternoon. That fire burned a small spot near Rawson Road and Riverside Avenue. No cause has been determined.
