A Nevada woman has been sentenced for trying to hire a hitman in 2016 to kill her ex-husband in Chico. 38-year-old Kristy Lynn Felkins of Fallon paid 12 Bitcoin, valued at around $5,000 at the time, to the dark web site “Besa Mafia” for the murder of her ex, and told the administrator where the victim would be. Besa Mafia was a scam and Felkins was ripped off for the 12 Bitcoin. Felkins’ communications were intercepted by federal agents and she was arrested. She pleaded guilty last year and has been sentenced to five years in federal prison.
