Investigators in Trinity County have been trying to unravel the mysterious circumstances surrounding a woman who was found severely injured on a Hayfork-area road. Last Tuesday evening the woman was found on Westridge Road in Trinity Pines. She was unconscious and bleeding from facial wounds. She was transported by helicopter to an out of area hospital, where she remains in stable condition. She still has been unable to make a statement about what happened. No physical evidence was found to show she had been hit by a vehicle so the investigation was transferred from the CHP to the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office. Detectives found a witness who said the woman had, in fact, been struck by a vehicle so the investigation has been given back to the CHP. Anyone who can help is urged to contact the Trinity Area CHP.
