RPD: Driver Arrested With Meth After Crash During Chase In South Redding

Redding Police say a man led them on a brief chase before being caught with a bag of drugs. At ten minutes to Midnight Friday, a Ford Mustang was pulled over on Canyon Road near Highway 273. When one of the officers noticed a large Ziploc bag of Methamphetamine on the passenger seat, the driver sped away onto Highway 273. He soon lost control of the car and hit a curb, disabling it. 33-year-old Hector Virgen of Livingston, California was arrested. Police say the bag contained a Quarter Pound of Meth.
