A man was arrested in East Redding Wednesday evening for a felony crime that is, by its nature, easy to track. At 10:40PM sheriff’s deputies were called to the Redding Regional Airport because someone had shined a green laser at several airplanes as they were taking off and landing. Observers in the air traffic control tower had already pinpointed the location to be at Fig Tree Lane and Primrose Avenue. That’s where deputies found several people hanging out in their backyard. They say 36-year-old Michael Ybarra admitted to being the laser weilder. He’s on felony probation but apparently didn’t know that he had committed a felony punishable by 3 years in prison. He was booked into jail.
