1 Cited During “Shoulder Tap” Operation In Redding

A minor decoy alcohol sting was conducted by Redding Police Monday. It was a “Shoulder Tap” operation, which targets customers outside liquor and convenience stores. The underage decoy asked people if they would buy alcohol with the decoy’s money, telling them it was because of age. The penalty is a minimum $1,000 fine and 24 hours community service. Fourteen people were contacted by the decoy and only one agreed to make the purchase, and was cited.
