The Sheriff’s Department conducted a DUI and drivers license checkpoint in Shasta Lake City Saturday night. Deputies screened 542 drivers at the checkpoint, and also made 35 traffic stops on surrounding streets. 16 field sobriety checks were done and one person was arrested for driving under the influence. Seven other citations were issued for other violations.
