A young man died after a jet ski collision on Lake Shasta Saturday afternoon. It happened in Shannon Cove near Sacramento Point. Boating Safety Deputies arrived to find a 19-year-old man with a knee injury and an 18-year-old man with injuries on his chin and face. They were both riding a personal watercraft that was struck by another one ridden by a 21-year-old man who was not injured. The two patients were taken by deputies to Bridge Bay, where an ambulance was waiting. When they got to the marina the 18-year-old became unresponsive. Medics tried revive him on the way to the hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival. The incident is still under investigation.
