A prescribed burn is planned for Friday in the Red Bluff Recreation Area. Mendocino National Forest, Cal-Fire, Red Bluff Fire, U.S. Fish and Wildlife and the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians are all involved. If conditions are right, 300 acres of grasses, shrubs and downed trees will be torched near homes along Sale Lane. The long term vegetation management project has been grazing and chipping, but this is the first prescribed burn there in more than a decade.
