The area’s largest veterans appreciation event of the year is undoubtedly the Shasta Lake Veterans Day Parade. The 32nd annual event is Saturday morning in the City of Shasta Lake, presented by the Shasta Lake Lions Club. The festivities will kick of with a pancake breakfast at 7AM at the Shasta Lake Fire Hall on Ashby Court. The parade will begin at 10 O’clock rain or shine and will run down Shasta Dam Boulevard. The Grand Marshal is former U.S. Air Force Medic Sergeant Dave Thompson. If the weather is right, a flyover will be provided from Klamath Falls. Those attending should bring a lawn chair and are urged to arrive early for the best seats. Immediately following the parade a pulled pork lunch will be held at the American Legion Post 720 on Valecito Street.
