Redding Electric Utility has grant money available for residents to replace fossil-fueled home appliances with efficient electrical equipment. The offer is extended to income-qualified homeowners as well as renters. Eligible devices include gas furnaces, water heaters, clothes dryers, stoves and more. REU has $1.2 million for the program currently. Customers could see energy savings of around $400 a year. Information on who may qualify can be found at CityOfRedding.gov/assistance
