Sometimes the best first step toward making peace with a different culture is understanding where they come from. This Saturday a Downtown Redding church will present a free showing of an Academy Award winning film called “The Message- The Story Of Islam” starring Anthony Quinn and Irene Papas. Filmed in Morocco and Libya, it’s considered to be the only substantial film about Mohammed and Islam. It’s sponsored by the Islamic Center and the Anti-Racism Task Force, and it’ll be followed by a question and answer session. The screening is free, and dinner will be served with donations requested. It’ll start Saturday at 5 O’clock at the First United Methodist Church at South and East Streets in Redding.
