A helicopter that collided with another while fighting a Southern California fire was contracted out of Redding. Air Shasta Rotor and Wing released a statement identifying their pilot, Tony Sousa. He was flying the Cal-Fire Command over a Riverside County fire in a Bell 407 when the collision occurred on Sunday. The other larger helicopter landed safely but the Bell crashed to the ground, killing all three men on board, including Sousa and the two Cal-Fire personnel, Assistant Chief Josh Bischof and Captain Tim Rodriguez.
