Anderson House Suffers Heavy Fire Damage

A house in Anderson was heavily damaged by fire Tuesday afternoon. Anderson Fire Department, along with engines from CalFire and Cottonwood Fire, arrived a little before 5 o’clock to the house on Crest Drive. Help was also requested from Redding Fire. There were initial reports that someone was trapped inside, but that turned out to be untrue and everyone made it out of the house. A woman was transported to a hospital with an arm injury. The fire engulfed the attached garage before spreading into the living area. It was knocked down in about 15 minutes, followed by extensive mop-up and overhaul. Anderson Police closed nearby streets for several hours. Damage to the house is estimated at $200,000. The cause of the fire is not known.
