Anderson Police Say Burglary Suspect Had Tools of the Trade

Anderson Police say they caught a wanted burglar red-handed. At 10:15 Wednesday night officers spotted a pickup truck on Highway 273 near Latona Road driven by 40-year-old Jacob Short of Palo Cedro, who had a felony warrant for burglary. He was arrested and the truck was searched. Officers reported finding a lot of burglary tools, including pry bars, cutoff wheels, lock pick sets, and altered keys used to get into and steal cars. They also report finding a duffle bag containing military uniforms, a tactical vest, ballistic helmet and military insignia. The items in the duffle bag are worth thousands of dollars, and had been reported stolen five hours earlier from a vehicle in Redding. Short is in jail on $75,000 bail.
