An alleged porch pirate has been captured in Anderson. Thursday afternoon someone called Anderson Police from Ballantine Drive to say a man had pulled up to their driveway, walked up to the porch and fled with a package that had been delivered. Officers were shown surveillance video. About an hour later someone else reported a package stolen from their home on Solomon Peak Drive. Two days later, on Saturday morning, the suspect vehicle was spotted on North Street and officers pulled it over into the McDonald’s parking lot. The driver, 35-year-old James Orville Hamilton, is on felony probation so the he and the vehicle were searched. Officers reported finding 20 Grams of Methamphetamine, along with stolen mail, a stolen wallet and the stolen packages from the porch thefts. Hamilton was booked into jail.
