APD Arrests Two Men From Alaska On Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

Two men from Alaska were arrested after Fentanyl and Methamphetamine were reportedly found by Anderson Police during a traffic stop. Sunday night at approximately 11:14PM, Anderson Police conducted a traffic stop on Highway 273 for vehicle code violations. The driver, 31-year-old William Oleson, and rear passenger, 36-year-old Robert Mace, were both identified as residents of Alaska. A records check revealed Oleson had a felony warrant out of Reno-Tahoe Airport for theft. During the stop, APD K9 Rip detected drugs, prompting a vehicle search. Officers discovered a safe containing approximately Four Ounces of suspected Fentanyl and nearly One Ounce of suspected Methamphetamine. APD says the packaging indicated intent for drug sales and transportation. Both suspects refused to claim ownership and were arrested. They face multiple charges, including drug possession for sale and transportation. Oleson is set for extradition to Washoe County, Nevada. Both men are held in Shasta County Jail.
