APD Chief Retains Title Of “Best Pizza Maker”

The reigning champion retained his title in a pizza making contest Wednesday night at Charlew’s Taphouse in Downtown Redding. The celebrity pizza contest was a fundraiser for the teen centers in Redding and Anderson operated by Pathways to Hope for Children. The pizza makers were representatives of local law enforcement, government and media. The judges were four teenagers who frequent the teen centers. They decided that Wednesday night’s best pizza maker was last year’s best pizza maker, Anderson Police Chief Jon Poletski. The “People’s Choice” award for who brought in the most tips for the cause was Tracy Edwards of Redding Rancheria. A portion of all the restaurant’s proceeds Wednesday night was also donated the teen centers.
