APD Cites Two During Shoulder Tap Operation On Friday

Anderson Police cited two people during a sting on Friday targeting people willing to buy alcohol for minors. It was a shoulder tap operation, during which an underage decoy working with police approaches a customer outside a liquor or convenience store and asks them to make a purchase for them. Of the 20 people asked, 2 of them agreed to make the buy and were cited. The penalty is a minimum $1,000 fine and 24 hours of community service. A third person was arrested for Cocaine possession after officers noticed suspicious behavior in a parking lot.
