Thanks to seizures from criminals, other criminals may have a better chance of surviving encounters with Anderson Police. Asset forfeiture funds are collected from adjudicated cases in which the defendant is found to have been profiting from criminal acts, such as drug dealing. The Anderson Police Department has dipped into their asset forfeiture funds to acquire less lethal Shotguns from the Anderson based business Chisel Machining. The less lethal Shotguns fire beanbags that deliver a blow strong enough to drop a person to the ground without killing them. Thanks to the new acquisition, all Anderson Police patrol vehicles will be equipped with one of the special Shotguns, which have a bright orange stock and pump to make them easy to differentiate from an actual shotgun.
