APD K9 Sniffs Out 5 Ounces Of Meth During Traffic Stop

Anderson Police turned a fix-it ticket stop into a drug bust Tuesday morning. At around 10:30AM an officer stopped a car for a mechanical issue on Factory Outlets Drive. While an officer was writing a citation for 51-year-old Ryan Lamar Montgomery, another officer arrived and let Ivan the K9 sniff around. He alerted on the car and it was searched. Officers say two zippered bags with magnets on them were behind the rear seat attached to the frame. The bags allegedly contained more than 5 Ounces of Methamphetamine packaged for sale in multiple bags, along with a digital scale. Lamar was arrested and his Cottonwood home was also searched, reportedly turning up more contraband.
