The deadline to apply for a one year term on the Shasta County Grand Jury has been extended. The panel investigates any publicly administered and funded agency, either by their own initiative or in response to public complaints. They meet twice a month. Being a Grand Juror requires a commitment of about 15 or 20 hours a week. A judge chooses 30 applicants and 19 are drawn randomly to be the Grand Jury, with the remaining as alternates. Applications are now due by next Wednesday April 24th. More details are at shastacountygrandjury.org or 245-6761.
