Authorities Make Arrest During Sex Offender Compliance Sweep

A long-planned compliance sweep of local registered sex offenders was done Tuesday. Redding Police along with Anderson Police, the Sheriff’s Office and State Parole Officers visited many homes and motels, and also tracked down some offenders through their GPS monitoring devices. Officers contacted 43 sex offenders and three others on parole for other crimes to be sure they were following the terms of their parole. 39-year-old Joseph Minnitte, who’s not a registered sex offender, was allegedly found to be in possession of child sexual abuse materials and also had a loaded gun in a public place. He’s in jail on $25,000 bail.
