Redding Fire and Police Departments will compete in Vitalant’s “Battle of the Badges” blood drive to boost the blood supply for the start of Summer, when donations generally drop off. Members of the community are encouraged to participate, and when they give blood they can say whether it’s for the benefit of police officers or firefighters, thus determining a winner. The donation event is Tuesday June 20th from 11AM to 3PM at the Redding City Hall Community Room next to the council chambers. Walk-ins are accepted but appointments are encouraged at donors.vitalant.org.
