Crews are still cleaning up after a big rig trailer completely burned up on Interstate 5 in Redding. Located on the bridge on Southbound I-5 near the Eastbound Highway 44 exit, it started at 20 minutes after Midnight with a rear trailer tire on fire, apparently due to overheated brakes. The flames quickly spread and engulfed the entire trailer, which apparently was full of potatoes. The driver was able to disconnect the truck and move it away before the fire got too heavy. The slow lane of the freeway remains closed.
