The Shasta County Bomb Squad was called to an East Redding convenience store Sunday morning after an employee found what looked like an explosive device in front of the store. It was a cylindrical object with what looked like a fuse sticking out of one end. It was found behind a toy vending machine in front of the Circle K at the corner of Hartnell Avenue and Churn Creek Road. The store was evacuated and the bomb squad took the item and rendered it safe. Anyone with information is urged to contact Redding Police.
