The Tehama-Glenn Unit of Cal-Fire will suspend most burn permits starting June 26th. After an unusually wet winter there’s a massive amount of grass and other flashy fuels, and it’s drying quickly. The decision has been made to ban all residential outdoor burning of landscape debris in Tehama County, except for in Mineral, Child’s Meadows, Deer Creek and Mill Creek. Since the start of the year, Cal-Fire has already responded to more than 1,656 wildfires around the state. Residents are urged to protect their homes by carefully clearing excessive vegetation from a 100 foot diameter. Many tips are at readyforwildfire.org.
