A prescribed burn planned for east of Redding Wednesday has been delayed a couple of days due to weather conditions. The Aldridge Vegetation Treatment Project is located off Ponderosa Way between Shingletown and Whitmore. The goal of the operation is to remove fuels and reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfire, and also to provide live fire training for new firefighters. The burn is now set to begin at 7 O’clock Friday morning. If weather conditions are right, Cal-Fire plans to torch 218 acres.
