The Gore Ranch prescribed burn is complete, and Cal-Fire managers are calling it a success. No escaped fire was reported Thursday though there was apparently a 20 acre slop-over on Wednesday. Each day’s burn had been expected to be 400 acres, but only 250 acres was burned Wednesday and 290 acres Thursday. Cal-Fire says Southwest Redding residents can feel safer due to the protection provided by the removal of all that dry material.
