A new Cal-Fire center will be stationed in Happy Valley. The state has secured a lease on the property that formerly housed the Victor Group Home Treatment Center on Canyon Road at China Gulch. It will be staffed 24 hours a day by a 40 person firefighter hand crew. The location has the capacity to house three separate hand crews. Cal-Fire says it has a goal of containing 95% of fires to 10 acres or less.
