A Redding attorney has been disbarred. The California Bar Association says that in 2016, Michael Ralph McCabe was representing a couple who was suing their landlord for damage to their business property. McCabe apparently failed to serve the defendants with a complaint or file a case management conference statement, and failed to make court appearances twice. He was then fired and failed to return his clients’ files and property, according to the complaint. In another case in 2018 McCabe had been placed on administrative inactive status but presented himself in court as if he were entitled to practice law. He made 4 court appearances under that status. He then refused to cooperate with the state bar investigation. His disbarment went into effect on Sunday.
