Caltrans Will Host Public Meeting On Whiskey Creek Bridge Replacement

A meeting will be held by Caltrans officials Thursday to update the public about the upcoming Whiskey Creek Bridge Replacement Project. The plan is to completely replace the bridge deck and superstructure for the span that carries Highway 299 traffic across part of Whiskeytown Lake. The highway will be widened from 33 feet to 66 feet, including a 15-foot-wide bicycle and pedestrian path. Construction is set to begin next Summer and is expected to go on for about two years. The existing bridge is to be demolished after the one is complete. Public comments are being accepted through November 18th. An open house-style meeting will be at the Caltrans District 2 Offices at the corner of Continental and Butte Streets from 5PM to 7PM Thursday evening.
