An automotive-equestrian collision in the Orland area has resulted in injured riders and dead horses. Shortly before 8 O’clock Tuesday evening four people were riding horses on County Road 16 when they were struck by a vehicle driven by 34-year-old James Sudberry. Two of the horses were killed and the riders were all sent flying. 27-year-old Matthew Meester major injuries to his head and neck. 32-year-old Antonio Guerrero sustained injuries to his wrists, knee and elbow. Injuries to the other two riders were not as serious. Sudberry had minor injuries. The CHP does not suspect drugs or alcohol.
