Saturday marks the 105th anniversary of the armistice that ended World War One, which was signed at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. Originally called Armistice Day, November 11th became Veterans Day. The Northern California Veterans Cemetery will begin its Veterans Day ceremony sharply at 11AM Saturday. The event usually attracts more than a Thousand visitors and this year it will likely be much more because it’s on a weekend. Organizers would like people to arrive before 10:50AM for the flyover, followed by a full program of speakers, music and ceremony to honor those who have served our country. The cemetery is located on Gas Point Road just south of Igo. From Redding it can be reached by way of Placer Road or Clear Creek Road.
