A man convicted of raping children has been given a long prison sentence. 60-year-old Alfred Robert Hoehl was found guilty by a Shasta County jury of 18 felony counts in the sexual assaults of multiple victims younger than 14-years-old. Hoehl was arrested in 2019 when he was accused of repeatedly molesting a 13-year-old female family member. Major crimes detectives interviewed him and eventually he confessed to molesting the child many times starting about a year prior. Accusations then came in from other victims. Some of the victims and their family members testified at Thursday’s sentencing hearing before Hoehl was ordered to serve 40 years in state prison.
