Hundreds of children’s coats will be given away Saturday at the Redding Civic Auditorium. Over the last couple of months Shasta County Child Support Services, with help from Health and Human Services, Shasta Community Health and the United Way, have been collecting new Winter coats for children, all of them donated by concerned members of the community. The coats will be handed out during a drive-through event Saturday at the Civic Auditorium starting at 9AM. They’ll be given away, one per child, on a first come-first served basis. The child must be present. This is the 4th year for the event and last year nearly 300 children received new coats.
