Three people were killed in a crash in the Shingletown area Tuesday night, according to the Shingletown Volunteer Fire Department, whose fire hall is very close to the crash scene. The CHP has confirmed that just before 8 O’clock a Toyota 4Runner was westbound on Highway 44 near Brush Creek road at an unknown speed when the driver swerved to avoid a Deer, lost control, hit the Deer, left roadway, overturned and slammed into a large Pine Tree. Two juveniles were transported to a hospital with major injuries and three people were declared dead at the scene. The CHP has not determined if alcohol was a factor. The identity of the victims is awaiting word from the Coroners Office.
