A man fled law enforcement Monday several times before being captured. Around 8:30AM Redding Police were investigating a report of a stolen black Toyota Corolla in West Redding when they spotted the car and chased it for a short time before letting it go because of road conditions. The car was seen around town several times before CHP Air Ops got a sighting of it and tracked it from above. It was involved in three collisions before becoming high-centered on a curb. After a long foot chase, officers took 39-year-old Tou Thao into custody. He faces charges including felony evading while driving against traffic, three counts of hit and run, as well as possession of a stolen car, drugs, and a handgun with the serial number removed. He also was charged with smuggling drugs and contraband into jail.
