A fun day at Lake Shasta ended in a rescue Tuesday. At 3PM Boating Safety Deputies, medical personnel and a CHP helicopter responded to a call at the west end of Little Backbone Inlet, where a woman had been enjoying a natural waterslide and suffered serious injuries. The terrain is steep and rugged there, so a CHP crewmember was lowered down to the patient. She was hoisted out of the canyon to a nearby boat, which took her to Centimudi Boat Ramp and an ambulance took her to a hospital.
