A man threatening to jump from a freeway overpass in Corning was talked down by a CHP Officer last week. Last Wednesday the man was leaning over the railing on the Liberal Avenue Overpass. Corning Police arrived and he told them he was going to throw himself headfirst onto the freeway below. He had one leg over the rail when CHP Officer Matthew Nelson arrived and started a conversation to build a rapport. He convinced the man to step away from the ledge and seek help.
