CHP Searching For Driver Of Car That Struck 2 Utility Poles Early Monday

The CHP has asked Redding hospitals to be on the lookout for a person with unknown injuries after a recently wrecked and abandoned car was found between Redding and Anderson. A little after 5AM Monday off Highway 273 near the Jolly Giant Flea Mart, a vehicle was discovered to have run into at least two utility poles, with one of them destroyed. There was a lot of damage to the vehicle but nobody around. PG&E was called to repair the pole.

Also Monday morning, there was a fully involved vehicle fire on Riverland Drive south of Redding. The burning SUV was reported at 5:45AM. The driver apparently escaped the fire safely.
