The CHP chased a woman down Interstate 5 at very high speed Monday night. A Dodge Challenger was pulled over for weaving on Southbound Interstate 5 and stopped at North Street in Anderson. The officer had a short conversation with the driver but then she took off onto Southbound I-5 from Balls Ferry Road and fled at more than 120 miles an hour. The officer had already gotten the woman’s information so the pursuit was quickly discontinued. She kept driving at high speeds as she headed south and other officers tracked her, along with a CHP helicopter. When she reached the Williams area, a spike strip was used to flatten the Challenger’s and the driver surrendered. She was returned to Shasta County and booked for felony fleeing.
