A Redding man has been given a very long sentence after a Shasta County jury found him guilty on dozens of drug-related charges. 55-year-old Kyle Richard Sims was a designated chronic offender when he was arrested in 2021 after failing to appear on more than a dozen felony cases, including possession and transportation for sale of Fentanyl, Heroin and Methamphetamine, as well as prior strike convictions. His jury trial concluded in late August with guilty verdicts on 32 felonies and 7 misdemeanors. Sims has been sentenced to more than 50 years in state prison.
