CIRT Team Helps Local Homeless Man On Path To Recovery

The Redding Police Crisis Intervention Response Team has provided an update on a homeless man they’ve been helping. 55-year-old Charles has not had a home for 20 years, and had been the subject of many complaints due to illegally camping outside downtown businesses and being drunk. In January he was sleeping in the doorway of a business when he was offered help by the CIRT Team, which he accepted. Mercy Hospital found he didn’t need medical attention. Good News Rescue Mission provided fresh clothing, Shasta School of Cosmetology provided a haircut, and shelter was provided by No Boundaries Transitional Housing. Three months later, Charles is now reported to be clean and sober and has a steady income. He still resides at a motel operated by No Boundaries on Bechelli Lane. On Wednesday an open house was held at the new No Boundaries Location, the former Rodeway Inn on North Market Street.
