The Redding City Council has extended the lease for the United Way micro shelter transitional housing community off South Market Street behind the RABA Facility. The 12 small shelters are identical to the ones the Good News Rescue Mission is installing on Veda Street. The City of Redding purchased the shelters and they’re being managed by the non-profit organizations. The United Way says that of the 12 people who have lived in and moved out of their shelters, 11 of them have moved into some kind of housing.
