Clerical Error Delays Hearing On Zoning Amendment For Hawes Farms

A hearing that had been scheduled for Thursday nights Shasta County Board of Supervisors meeting has been postponed. Greg and Nikola Hawes had sought a zoning amendment for the Historic Hawes Farms seasonal attractions at Dersch and Deschutes Road. The postponement is necessary to correct a clerical error in the legal notice for the proposed amendment. It may well benefit Hawes to delay the hearing for the newly formed set of supervisors. Earlier this year Hawes tried to get county approval to operate some carnival rides at the location but three of the five members of the board recused due to various declared conflicts of interest. With only two members voting and three votes required, there was not a quorum and therefore approval proved impossible.
