Corning Man Charged With Underage Sex Crimes

A Corning man has been deported from Mexico to face sex crime-related charges. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says that in 2020, 38-year-old Eduardo Castillo used a cellphone and the Internet to entice at least four underage victims into sending him images of themselves engaging in sexual conduct. He was indicted last year, and then fled to La Presa, Colima, Mexico. Castillo is not a Mexican citizen and on Wednesday Mexican immigration authorities deported him. He was seized by the FBI and is in custody in the Sacramento County Jail awaiting federal court. If convicted, Castillo faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life in federal prison.
