Corning Police Seek Motorcyclist Who Fled On Foot After High Speed Pursuit

Corning Police chased a stolen motorcycle at very high speeds, but the rider ended up getting away on foot. A little before 11AM Sunday officers saw the motorcycle being driven recklessly, passing cars on Hall Road across double yellow lines at 90 miles an hour. When he saw the police behind him, the rider fled south on Hall Road at 105 miles an hour, still passing cars, and blew through the intersection at South Avenue before ditching the motorcycle and running into orchards east of Hall Road. Officers tried to set up a perimeter with Tehama County Deputies and the CHP, but the rider was not found. The motorcycle had been stolen from 8th Avenue the night before.
