A man who died when his own car ran over him in Eastern Shasta County has been identified as 91-year-old Robert Waite Blanchard. At around 2PM Monday afternoon Blanchard was working on his Ford Taurus in his driveway in the McArthur area off Highway 299 west of Pittville Road. He was outside the car when it started moving forward and he went around to the front of the car to try and stop it but it knocked him to the ground and ran over him, causing fatal injuries.
